Bah. Took car to bodyshop to sort some rust out, and was a bit optimistic with how long it would take, so don't have it back today :-(

Swam home again, torrential rain wipers wouldn't go quick enough at one point.
One very deep puddle I didn't see until the last second which I hit at about 40mph nearly ripped the steering wheel out of my hand. If it had been 60mph it probably would have.

Was sitting on my own like 'Billy No Mates' at 7.30 until Blood and Whiskey turned up in his Zafira at 7.40. then at 7.45, one by one, the die hards appeared. Not so much a show quantity, but quality. Definately an indoors night as the weather got worse and worse until the rain came down as stair rods (as my gran used to say). So, taking Mozza's lead I left the Wharf soon after 9.00pm and headed for the M42, where I I hit deep water twice before reaching Jc 3, fish tailing quite badly once as I aquaplaned at 50mph. And still there were drivers flying along at 70-80mph.. how could they even see? My Range Rover wouldn't clear that sort of water from the windscreen, even less at that speed.

Any how, once I reached the M5, and entered God's country, the rain stopped and some degree of normality returned. As I passed through Stourbridge I felt that some measure of recognition was in order for having battled the eliments, returning home safely and triumphantly. Having bigged up this achievement to sufficiently deserve a meritous reward, I stopped at Mr. Ken Woo's 'Happy House' emporium where I procured and presented myslef with a large portion of barbequed spare ribs. I was gracious in my acceptance of the trophy, thanking all those who had played a part in my attainment of this accolade. :D

It certainly wasn't 5 weather last night, i passed a laguna who'd aquaplaned into the central armco (the clues were there :loser: - standing water all over lane 3) do i get a medal for taking the same route back home as firebucket whilst driving a 250 hp 5 with 600lb springs, crap tyres in wellies

The conditions weren't toooo bad as long as you only went in lane 3 for the minimum time and tippy toed on the throttle. i can't wait for the ground to dry up so i can see what the second half of the rev range feels like when i have half a chance of putting it down...

a big +1 on quality over quantity :thumb:
