Car Control Day Friday 4th November - Silverstone

Postby NickD » Sun Oct 09, 2011 10:47 pm

We have one of our legendary Car Control Days at Silverstone on the 4th November on the smooth tarmac of car park 50.
As usual we will be supported by Mint Tyres who can provide skiddy tyres and rims at very reasonable cost.

There are tremendous fun events where you can learn a lot about you and your car and with the approaching winter months, allow you to practice the skill needed to keep you safe on wet and icy roads.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you send the wall across the field once you've hit it.

I like that video too*. Had a couple of moments of epic understeer followed by sharp controlled oversteer. Wouldn't purposefully do that on the roads, but it's fun to see how agile and controllable the car is. Oh and I definitely learned a lot on that day by playing :)

*prize** for the first person to spot my car in the video
