I am currently working with the Prototype section at AML, supplying parts to the workshop, press garage and production line. No help to anyone.
However I am trained as a Hydraulic Engineer, with 3 yrs exp working for a hydraulic and pneumatic firm, so not only do I know pressures etc, I can also make the hoses for agricultural or excavational use. Even braided brake hoses if I were to be given the parts.

I like my engines and in my spare time enjoy rebuilding them in order to learn more about them, My speciality is the 1.6 and 1.7 Ford (Sigma) Zetec SE engines, know them like the back of my hand. As I have a non running RX8, I will be performing a full rebuild on that when I get chance.

Hopefully this helps someone somewhere.

Mike, what are the torque settings for putting a head back on a zetec (2.1 in my case)?

see, you've been useful already (assuming you know the answer, that is!!!)

I dont know much about the 2.1 zetec/zvh, however, the torque settings I used for my old 1.8 zetec E was 25 NM, 45 NM and then 105 degrees. I assume they would be the same. You need to follow a tightening sequence with the bolts to prevent unwanted damage to bolts, block, head and gasket. I'm just trying to find you one now. If I can scan it or get a photo from the Haynes Manual, I'll do that.

Hope this helps.

Ex-military, spanned the range from Combat Medical Technician to Iraqi Liaison Officer and Deputy Clinical Services Manager at the last ever British Military Hospital (DCU Northern Ireland). Note the indiscriminate use of capital letters in an Army TLA-stylee (TLA = Three Letter Acronym).

Now gainfully employed by the Fire & Rescue Service as an Senior Occupational Health Advisor. Can write risk assessments when encouraged.

So you used to be a CMT, you were also a ILO, and a DCSM at the last ever BMH. Now you work for the FRS as a SOHA?
