I rebuilt the gearbox using a thinner grease. It has released a few more ponies.

With the wing fitted it was time to get on with it and attempt the paint.
First up a coat of metal flake
Then over that I built up the black
With the black done the screen masking was removed
Then the glass was tinted with smoke spray. All done the outer protective film could be removed
Wing added
Needs some decals applying to finish it. But......
I think it looks pretty good so far

Well it kinda has a front lip. When the shell comes it isn't trimmed. So you have to cut it from the excess polycarbonate sheet that it is vacuum formed from. I left some of that excess to leave a front lip of sorts

It needs more. Just not so much more that it fouls the ground and flips arse-over-nose.

I think it has to be called a celebration.
It's metallic black... but I rather overdid the flake...
It has white 5 spoke wheels... but they aren't Slipstreams...
It has a BGW... but it's not the exactly same shape...
It has a front lip spoiler... But it's not a GV...
I don't think I can in good conscience call it a faithful replica
Definitely 'In the spirit of' though

that looks brilliant, did the metal flake come in an aerosol.
it looks much easier spraying from the inside, you get a really good finish

I was a touch confuddled by the flake. Came in an aerosol and I expected it to give a smoke finish with glitter in it. But it was just glitter! Quite odd to spray! Once the black goes over the top, on the inside of the shell, it all makes sense
I'll bring it to the meet tomorrow. Might get a run round the car park weather permitting
