Monthly Run Coordinator - 2016

Whats going on, where and who is going?

Monthly Run Coordinator - 2016

Postby Cerberus » Tue Apr 19, 2016 7:54 am

It's that time of the year again folks!

Spring has sprung, the grass has ris... I wonder where the MX-5's is...?

We are looking for volunteers!

We will hold a 'run' each month. Organised by you, the P5 members.

It's extra important this year that we all pull together and work as a team to get some events happening. I'm being hammered by my committee role for the club. If you sit on your hands waiting for me to organise runs you are going to be hard up for entertainment this year.

Phoenix Fives needs you!

It's easy to organise a run. Crikey, last year, even Clare managed to organise one and she's a girl!

What sort of run? The criteria should be something like -
O) Starts in a fairly central/easily accessible location (With plenty of space to muster)
O) Should then consist of a guided convoy that drives for at least 45 minutes to destination.
O) Destination should be a place of interest/pub/restaurant/museum and have sufficient space to park all cars.
(That's just a rough idea. It's not set in stone!)

Each month we would like a member to put themselves and their route forward for running the following month.
I'll get the ball rolling with a thread each month asking for a volunteer for the next monthly run.

The Monthly Run Co-ordinator can be a different person each month. I might even make a badge for the 'MRC' to wear each month.
In order to be covered by our liability insurance the run should have a published route, on it's forum thread, in advance of the event. (Google maps is good for this)

Who's up for it then? :thumb:

I tried.... > viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10767

but... Yeah... I think that's it. No one wants to play anymore.

I got quite a bollocking from the Retro Rides team for booking a twenty five car stand and turning up with seven cars.

I don't know what to do if I'm honest. No one seems to be interested.

Maybe we could try doing something a bit more car orientated.... where did we go where they had that slippery tarmac track?

Where you can practice hanging the back end out easily at relatively low speed....

I think Stuart had a go on the day, would anyone be up for that?? 8)

That was Oulton Park. It's a shit drive to get up there. Rockingham, OTOH, is a nice drive, and I hear that someone local runs a similar event there :)
