Post Won't Transition to "Read"...

Postby Fred Gassit » Thu May 23, 2013 8:48 am

As well as the strangeness with replies appearing before the original questions (happened to me as well), I now cannot mark a For Sale post as "read". It keeps coming back whenever I view unread posts!

Do we have a gremlin? :P

I had this with one in the For Sale area as well, clicked on and off it 3 or 4 times to no avail. When I clicked on Mark all posts as read, it went away. Now got the same problem with one in Events (the wellsbourne wheels one) and the same approach isn't working.

It's very odd. I have set the refresh of 'read' status to be handled server side. Which should have fixed it. But it seems to have come back.

I believe it may be to do with server side caching. I will fire off a support ticket to the hosting company and ask for that to be turned off.

Meanwhile..... give it a bit and the annoying buggers should go away (as the server side cache expires).

Apologies for this! It's bloomin annoying isn't it!

Ha-ha, so it's not just me! :P

I thought Steve had invoked some sort of "moderator special power" with that Urgent Request message so it would always pop up.
Now it is happening with all sorts...

No biggie though. :thumb:
