Friday August 22nd, only £80, Action Day in Loughborough!

Ahoy Phoenixers!

We've got ourselves an action day! :D

Friday August the 22nd, only £80, and at Loughborough, which is just under 2 hours north of London, and an easy drive to boot.

Driver Action Days, are special days for you to get onto track, and practice track driving on a sprint circuit, or practice sliding a car sideways on a special low grip drift surface (so you don't wear your tyres out), and have more than you thought was possible in a car to have! You will get tuition if you want it, or you can just spend the whole day practising!

A video of the Sprint track can be found HERE

This day offers a full day of driving, and numbers are as usual, limited so you get maximum driving time.

At the start of your day, you will be put into a small group, who will remain your group until the afternoon. Once you have signed on, and attended a safety briefing you will be asked to group up. You will then get alternated between the sprint circuit, the car control area, and the rest area, and then you will swap once the session is finished. The idea is you get to have a go at everything several times, and really have some serious fun, and learn more about your car than you thought possible. In the afternoon, you will not be grouped, and you can queue to try any part of the facility you like to practice as much as you want! Then at the end of the day comes a chance to put everything you've learnt into practice, and you will get to drive the sprint course under the stop watch, and the best driver, and most improved driver from each group will receive prizes, and get to be smug!

Timing Schedule:

9:00 - 9:30 Signing on.
9:30 - 9.45 Brieifing / Grouping.
10am - 1pm Driving!
1pm Lunch break.
2pm - 3.45pm Free Practice.
4pm - 5pm Timing and Prize Giving.

Location / Directions:

* Come off the M1 taking the A46 signposted to Loughborough and Leicester North.
* After approx 1/2 mile, turn onto A6, signposted to Loughborough and Leicester North.
* At roundabout, follow signs to Loughborough and Rothley; straight over the next roundabout continuing 3 1/2 miles down A6.
* Turning off the A6 at the second signpost for Quorn and Barrow on Soar, proceed up the hill and turn left at the next roundabout.
* Continue through the village High Street following signs to Hoton and straight over the large roundabout continuing towards Hoton. In just under 2 miles you will see a sign for Prestwold Hall

Booking's can be made here: Driver Action Day

If you would like to come at watch, spectators are free, and can use our facilities.]

To those who are wondering how this differs to the LoT North Weald day, this offers a different sort of experience, and not meant to be a competing day. We are encouraging other 'On Track' clubs to join us at this venue in fact! This is a full sprint track (and a long lap to boot!), plus a drift area (with a brilliant low grip surface, so you don't kill your tyres), and you should be on track and driving most of the day. :)

 That's Al

You can book on line, just click the link at the bottom of this post. From our point of view we would like to know as soon as in advance, from you, the customers point of view, you can leave it as late as you want, however you then run the risk of it being sold out.

Honestly, unless your car is twisted then the bamge really is superfficial. If you haveit and it is drivable, get to Holbrooks and get a proper opinion.
