Me, stuart b and Mike (valentinik) have our names down for it, not sure if anyone else from here is going. I'm 50/50 at the moment as the car really needs to be set up properly and I'm not 100% sure I'll have the time / money to do it.

I suppose i had better stop putting everyone else before my own fun for once, I will consult the diary and try to make it along.

Do we think this bloody rain will stop by April???

It also means that I need to get in the garage and prep the yellow peril..... Cas, here I come, ready or not...

Get yourself signed up. I wouldn't mind a proper ride in a charged car.

That was a lot of fun. The best track days are those where you know a lot of the other drivers and can chase after people you know. Trying to keep up with faster cars is a great way to learn, although it can result in going a little into the run-off areas.

Not a bad bit of driving. Only one 'off', a few of back-end 'oops' moments, no brake lock-ups, a couple of clutch kicks and only two messed up gear changes. 2nd->1st is not a good thing at 40 mph, and 2nd->5th will kill all power.

A few photos from the day.

Had a great day even though it pissed down for most of it!

The brief from the Chief Marshall before we started set the tone for the day - he had us all in stitches!

We arrived in Cardiff and headed for Tesco at Culverhouse Cross on the way to the track only to find the oil filler cap had come off and lodged itself behind the off side light mechanism - meaning the oil had been escaping from the rocker cover for most of the journey! You can imagine the mess!

We cleaned up as best we could with kitchen roll and paper towells at the filling station, filled up with Momentum99 and headed to the track.

Once there we carried on mopping up before the brief. And again after, whilst the first few groups went out.

As it was my first trackday at LLandow and my first trackday in the 5 they allocated us to group 3 out of 4 in experience. We lapped most of our group in the morning group sessions before the rain.

Then the rain came and open pit lane. We managed another 3 x 15 minute stints and had some epic fun. I'm very impressed by the Federal RSR's in the wet - only letting go in the standing water in one spot on the track. Absolutely awesome in the dry!

Top day in the end :thumb:

You should have joined the yellow group. Far better to be the minnow in the lake than a shark in the aquarium. You seemed to be setting a good pace.

I was probably in the only naturally-aspirated car in the first group. I won't pretend that was I keeping up, but I had a damn good go at following people through the corners (apart from the bus stop - I ballsed that up every lap).

How many cars did you double-lap? I was quite chuffed to overtake the same car twice in the afternoon. Heavy rain is a great way to level the playing field; you can't fight grip with horsepower.
